Legal Services

Since 1955 Reese & Reese has vigorously protected the rights of the seriously injured in all venues, both state and federal. You need an attorney who can understand your problem from your perspective. You need advocates with the experience, background, work ethic, and resources to do battle on your behalf. Combined, we have over 135 years of experience in personal injury litigation and workers’ compensation practice. Reese & Reese is a family-oriented law firm that treats you like family and treats you the way they would want to be treated.

Personal Injury

If you have been injured as a result of the negligent conduct of another, you need the immediate assistance of a qualified personal injury attorney. After sustaining a personal injury, the negligent party’s insurance company, attorneys, and investigators immediately begin taking aggressive action to minimize their exposure or liability. The qualified attorneys at Reese & Reese are familiar with insurance company tactics and have the experience and resources to protect and preserve your rights, health, and future welfare.

Some of the types of personal injury cases we handle include:

  • Automobile Collisions
  • Products Liability
  • Dog Bite
  • Slip & Fall
  • Dram Shop
  • Motorcycle Collisions
  • Pedestrian Accidents

No attorney’s fees unless recovery is made.

Auto Collision

The law requires that the person or company responsible pay for your auto accident injuries and repairs. Many victims of car accidents try to handle their own personal injury cases, hoping that the insurance companies involved will settle as promptly and fairly as advertised. Unfortunately, not all insurance companies respond in that manner, and you need an Illinois auto accident expert on your side. Insurance companies’ obligations are to their stockholders and policyholders, not to people injured in car accidents. Insurance companies have enormous advantages: vast wealth, armies of highly trained, experienced adjusters and attorneys, and dozens of legal reasons to reduce or deny compensation. At Reese & Reese our obligation is to you.

Negotiating alone or waiting until the insurance company makes an offer can be frustrating and costly. One wrong move or one mistake can cost you money. Delaying or guessing about the value of your personal injury case can result in the loss of valuable rights and thousands of dollars.

Compensation can be sought for medical bills, lost wages, car rentals and repairs, and for the pain and suffering you’ve endured. The attorneys at Reese & Reese are highly experienced in the field of personal injury law. We will take care of getting the proof needed to recover your damages when you’ve been injured. We will use every available resource to help you.

Workers' Compensation

Do you need to sign a medical release following an injury? Do you know whether filing a claim is not a “lawsuit?” Do you know how soon you must report an injury? How long do you have to file a claim? How many doctors may you see? How soon should you be paid after your injury? Do you have to see the company doctor?

These are just a few questions you will be faced with after a work injury. Workers’ compensation in the State of Illinois can be quite complex. Insurance companies may not be the best source for learning your rights following an injury.

Your employer and its insurance carrier know the system and the law. The only person who may not know the law and their rights is the injured worker. You need your own expert and advocate to protect your rights.

Reese & Reese has attorneys dedicated to the exclusive practice of workers’ compensation. Let our attorneys work to protect you following your injury. No attorney’s fees unless recovery is made.

Social Security Disability

Woman Running

Reese and Reese attorneys offer representation on Social Security Disability cases. This encompasses both Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSDI is available for any individual who cannot engage in substantial gainful activity because of a physical or mental impairment which is likely to last 12 months or more, or result in death. SSDI is available for those who are fully insured through payroll deduction. If you don’t have a work history and are not insured, SSI is available as long as you meet certain asset levels.

Most people who apply for SSDI or SSI are turned down twice. The denials require action within 60 days. If you wait more than 60 days, a new application process must be initiated. Reese and Reese Attorneys at Law can help by gathering together the evidence necessary to establish that you meet the definition of disability under the Social Security law.

Estate Planning, Probate, & Estate Administration

Our firm handles Estate Planning, which involves planning for the distribution of assets at death to ensure the least amount of estate tax, and to insure that property/money is distributed as desired.

Probate is the court proceeding through which a will is proved to be valid and the estate of a decedent is administered. The process generally includes collecting a decedent’s assets, liquidating liabilities, paying necessary taxes, and distribution of property to heirs.

Traffic & DUI

Reese & Reese has attorneys who are knowledgeable and experienced in the Illinois traffic laws which include DUI.
